Qin and Han period, morality, sports culture
春秋战国呈现诸子百家、百花齐放、百家争鸣的繁荣景象,秦汉初期,由于历史惯性和战争需要,整个社会有着“尚武”精神。到了东汉后期,出于维护稳定统治的需要,执政者侧重于以“德”治世,弱化“力”在社会中的地位,“尚侠崇勇”之风趋于式微,整个文化呈现“独尊儒术”现象,自此华夏民族性格由强悍变文弱。到了魏晋时期形成了完全以养生和清淡玄学为主要特点的体育文化,以至影响后世达2000多年。可以说秦汉就是我国传统体育文化特质嬗变的转折点。从秦汉时期统治者分别对德、力的选择及其原因进行分析,以期总结出后世“重德轻力”倾向的原因。

In the warring state period, it thrived with schools of thought coexisting; in the early stage of Qin and Han period, the whole society "worshipped Wushu" due to the habitual war demand ; in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Confucian thought gained a uniquely high fame and the role of " force" was devalued out of the demand to secure political stability. Ever since, Chinese have been not force - oriented but knowledge - oriented. When it comes to the Wei and Jin period, the sports culture centering upon health preservation and metaphysics has been formed and affected descendants in the next 2000 years. It is safe to say Qin and Han period is a turning point for Chinese traditional sports culture. Reasons for the choice of rulers between morality and force in Qin and Han period are analyzed in the hope of explaining the tendency of later people to value morality but devalue force.
