中国南方跨国民族地区地处中国西南边疆最前沿，本地区在现实的经济社会发展中面临着一些困境和突出的社会问题。本文提出的经济发展与生态环境、现代化与民族文化保护等矛盾，走私、贩毒、艾滋病、非正常人口流动等突出的现实社会问题，以及民族、宗教问题等需要我们认真加以对待和研究。文章并对本地区现实问题的未来发展趋势进行了前瞻性讨论。

The areas of Cross - border ethnic groups in the South of China are located in the foremost frontier of the southwestern borders of China, the practical economic and social development of the areas is faced with some predicaments and outstanding social problems. In this article, the contradictions of e- conomic development and ecological environment, modernization and traditional culture protection and so on, the outstanding practical social problems of smuggling, drug trafficking. AIDS. abnormal popula- tion mobility and so on, ethnic minority issues and religion problems etc, all of these require us to entreat and investigate conscientiously. In connection with practical problems of these areas, This article also carries on some prospective discussions on the trend of development in the future.
