安帝末年,安帝兴起废太子之议,遭到部分朝臣的反对。这部分朝臣与已逝的和熹邓后以及早已势败的邓氏外戚有着极为密切的联系。他们实际上是邓氏外戚扶植起来的政治势力,与邓氏外戚之间构成了一种特殊的政治利益关系。安帝崩后,废太子（即后来的顺帝）发动宫廷政变,夺回帝位。顺帝借以发动政变的宫省势力与邓后有着密切的联系。安顺之际的一系列政治事变,反映出顺帝与邓后以及邓氏外戚之间有着千丝万缕的联系。这也充分说明,即便邓后崩亡、邓氏外戚势败,邓氏一族仍然保有对当时中枢政治格局很大的影响力。

The political incidents between Emperor An and Shun reflected the countless ties between Emperor Shun and Empress Deng and her family, which shows clearly that despite Empress Deng＇s death and the decline of her relatives, they still have the capability to affect the central political situation atthat time.
