Xie Yin-chang is a famous educator whose painstaking efforts laid foundation for the educational cause in modem Northeastern China. He not only translated foreign educational books and spread advanced educational ideas, but also undertook a lot of educational practice. In his opinion, the question who has fights to education is concerned with national consciousness and the groundwork of a nation; popularization should be the aim of education; the development of education should match local needs with practicality.
