体验对于外语学习的重要性无论在理论还是在课堂教学实践方面都已经得到学术界的广泛认同,体验是学习的基础,也是语言发展的基础。本文作者在有关体验式外语教学研究的基础上,系统地论述了以体验为指导思想的外语教材的开发原则、方法以及评估。作者认为,体验式外语教材不同于中国的传统教材,它必须以“复合大纲”为编写原则,以“理解、记忆、应用、综合、评价”为教材的教学目标,反对以“语法著作”的条条框框作为教材编写的原则。体验式外语教材必须以学习者的认知过程为依据,以多种技术为开发手段。最后,作者还系统地阐述了体验式外语教材的评估原则,这些原则同样坚持以学习者的认知为评估依据,反对“形式主义”的“外部评估”和“内部评估”的传统评估方法。

The importance of experiential learning to foreign language learning has been widely acknowledged in both theory and classroom practice. Experiential learning is not only the basis of learning, but also the basis for language development. Drawing on the existing findings in this field, the authors of the paper present their systematic study on the development of teaching materials for an experiential learning based classroom. They point out that the principle of "multiple syllabus" is much more appropriate than "single syllabus" for creating an experiential learning environment. It is able to set up a broader goal for achieving objectives ranging from understanding, memorization, application, synthesis, and evaluation while traditional language learning has only set up a goal for achieving understanding, memorization, and application. Finally, the authors conclude their argument with their own scheme of material development assessment which is more accurate in capturing the nature of experiential learning environment built in the design of the teaching materials.
