中国已经批准了国际劳工组织的《(就业与职业)歧视公约》(第111号公约),由此而引出了题为"反对就业歧视,促进就业平等"的课题研究。课题组以浙江、河南、四川、新疆四省(自治区)为调查样本,通过以问卷调查为基础的定量研究,对中国当前的就业歧视状况作出了一些基本判断:在中国就业歧视问题是严重的;不同群体和不同地区对就业歧视的判断是有差异的,但差异并不大;绝大多数劳动者认为用人单位给出的不录用的理由是不公平的,是对求职者的歧视;绝大多数就业歧视的受害者在歧视事件发生后并没有采取行动表示他们的抗议;在中国,年龄歧视、文凭歧视、性别歧视、经验歧视和健康歧视"既严重又普遍",身高歧视、相貌歧视和户口歧视"严重但不普遍",地域歧视和民族歧视"普遍但不严重",姓名歧视和属相歧视则"不严重也不普遍";就社会政策而言,目前迫切解决的就业歧视问题是:年龄歧视、文凭歧视、性别歧视、经验歧视和健康歧视。

Chinese government has approved of Convention of Discrimination in(Employment and Professions)(No.111Convention) adopted by International Labor Organization,giving rise to the research project entitled by "Objecting to Discrimination in Employment,Promoting Equality in Employment".The research team selected Zhejiang Province,Henan Province,Sichuan Province and Xinjiang Autonomous Region as research samples and made a quantitative study based on questionnaires,drawing some basic conclusions on the present discrimination in employment in China.There is severe discrimination in employment in China.Different groups and regions show difference,but not much,in definition of discrimination in employment.Most laborers think it unfair and discriminatory to be rejected for no reasons given by employers;however,most of the victims of discrimination failed to take action to in protest against discrimination.In China there exist both serious and common age discrimination,diploma discrimination,sexual discrimination,experience discrimination and health discrimination,which,in terms of social policy,are urgent problems to be solved in present China.
