与中医理论同样是以中国古代"气"论哲学为基础的"气象文学",烙有中国古代先民的自然观与思维模式的印记,是最有中国特色的文学样式。随着魏晋时期主体意识的觉醒,国人的自然观与思维模式由"天人合一"向"人定胜天"发展,呈现出题材上以天气现象为主向季候为主,体裁上由神话、寓言发展为诗词歌赋等更为丰富的样式的阶段性变化。面对现代大学教育分科体制及科学意识的冲击,尽管张君励、梁启超等发起"科学与人生观"之论战,试图坚守艺术、宗教阵地不受科学侵袭终至于落败,中国现代"气象文学"创作与研究终究被剔除精神内涵,空余形式与技巧的部分偶有表现。如今,过于关注探究人与社会、人与自身关系而日趋狭隘化的中国现当代文学,若要有所突破,传承以人与自然关系为思考重心的中国古代"气象文学"是重要途径,强化"气象文学"的创作研究也是传承中国文化的必然要求。

Like the theory of TCM,the meteorological literature,a type of literary genre with distinct Chinese characteristics,is also based on the theory of qi in the ancient Chinese philosophy and is branded with the ancient Chinese outlook on nature and mode of thinking. With the awakening of the subject consciousness in the Wei-Jin Period,the Chinese people's world view shifted from "the unity of man and nature" to "man's mission to conquer nature". This led to corresponding changes in literature:in literary themes,the focus shifted from weather phenomena to season phenomena; in genres and styles,the confinement to mythologies and allegories was replaced by an explosion of new literary forms including poems,songs and odes. Facing the challenges from the modern university education system and the advocacy of science,modern Chinese scholars like Zhang Junli and Liang Qichao launched a campaign to define science and people's world view,trying to protect arts and religion from being conquered by science. Despite their great efforts,they were finally defeated. Consequently,the creation of and studies on meteorological literature are deprived of spiritual contents; what has been left is only form and skills. Today,Chinese modern literature is increasingly narrow in its vision due to an overemphasis on the relationship between man and society and the relationship between man and himself. To rise above this narrowness depends on the recourse to Chinese ancient meteorological literary tradition which is characterized by its focus on the relationship between man and nature. Therefore,to strengthen the studies on meteorological literature also constitutes a necessary step to carry forward Chinese traditional culture.
