利用《中国城乡老年人口状况追踪调查问卷》和老年抑郁量表（GDS-15）中文版作为评定工具，探讨中国城乡老年人的抑郁症状及其影响因素。结果表明：（1）抑郁症状是老年人最常见的心理健康问题之一；（2）老年人心理健康状况存在显著的城乡差异，农村老人的心理健康状况要差于城市老人，其根本原因在于农村老人社会结构性资源的匮乏；（3）焦虑水平与经济状况对农村老人心理健康的影响大于城市老人，而健康状况与日常生活活动能力对于城市老人心理健康的影响大于农村老人，且农村老人抑郁症状的影响因素更为复杂。

Regional differences between urban and rural in depressive symptoms among older Chinese were examined based upon data collected from a survey with 1005 randomly selected aging Chinese of 60 years or older in Jiangsu, China. A Chinese version of the 15 - item Geriatric Depression Scale was used. The study demonstrates that depression is one of the most pervasive mental disorder among the aging Chinese, and elderly from rural areas is less mental healthy than the elderly from urban areas. The underlying reason is largely related to social - structural factors tied to social and financial resources. Programs and policies to ensure older people＇ s financial adequacy and health would be useful in reducing depressive symptoms or to enhancing the mental health well being of the aging population.
