Under the background of globalization,the significance of foreign language education planning has been widely recognized.This paper first analyzes the relationship between globalization and soft power,then probes into the role of foreign language education planning in improving national cultural soft power.It further discusses the principles,methods of foreign language education planning,and deals with the problems of language planning,discipline planning,talents cultivation,teacher education and academic research.Hopefully,it will bring certain enlightenment to the development of foreign language education.
