批判教育学以批判资本主义和工业化、实现社会正义和个人解放为己任,而包华士的生态正义教育学则认为关于社会正义的问题需要在更广泛的生态正义的理论框架下探讨。二者之所以有这样的分歧和论争,是由于他们持有不同的生态和生态正义观。二者对生态正义和社会正义的关系,或者说生态环境恶化的原因以及解决方式均有不同的认识。

Critical pedagogy regards the pursuit of social justice and individual emancipation by repudiating capitalism and industrialization as his own duty,while the most fundamental element of Bowers coo-justice pedagogy is the insight that any effort of pursuit of social justice has to be set within the framework of eco-justice. In fact, they have such controversy because they view ecology and ecological justice in different ways. They have also different understanding about the relation between eco-justice and social justice or the causes of environmental degradation and the solutions for it. This paper tries to outline the controversy and difference between Critical pedagogy and eco-justice pedagogy by analyzing the relevant articles and books.
