In Beijing dialect, nin 您 was the combination of ni 你 ＋ na 那. It was the honorific of the second personal pronoun as soon as it showed up in the late Qing Dynasty. It was not related with plural, which makes it different from nen 恁. The honorific of the third personal pronoun tan 怹 experienced approximately parallel process of sound change with that of nin.
