清代的学术主流从康熙到道光初年是“儒家礼教思潮”(Confucianritualism)的兴起与发展。这个思潮表现在以礼为教的道德论、以礼为治的经世论与以礼为学的三礼经学研究。这个儒家礼教思潮的兴起与发展,便构成了从明末开始的一个非常深广的儒家思想文化的转型。引导着儒家经学、考证学发展方向的,是当代制定礼制的争论以及对古礼如宗法的研究和争讼,尤其是对于宗族祠堂祭礼的制定与改革。考证学只不过是表面上对于典籍的校对和文字音义的研究。这些工具性的研究背后,乃是受到一个强大的儒家礼教思潮在推动。
清代的學術主流從康熙到道光初年是“儒傢禮教思潮”(Confucianritualism)的興起與髮展。這箇思潮錶現在以禮為教的道德論、以禮為治的經世論與以禮為學的三禮經學研究。這箇儒傢禮教思潮的興起與髮展,便構成瞭從明末開始的一箇非常深廣的儒傢思想文化的轉型。引導著儒傢經學、攷證學髮展方嚮的,是噹代製定禮製的爭論以及對古禮如宗法的研究和爭訟,尤其是對于宗族祠堂祭禮的製定與改革。攷證學隻不過是錶麵上對于典籍的校對和文字音義的研究。這些工具性的研究揹後,迺是受到一箇彊大的儒傢禮教思潮在推動。

This paper argues that from the Kangxi reign to the early Daoguang period, the Chinese intellectual scene was dominated by Confucian ritualism which found expressions in a ritualist ethics, a ritualist approach to government, and ritual studies. The rise of Confucian ritualism signals the profound transformation of Confu- cian learning and culture since the late Ming. What drove the development of Classical scholarship were de- bates and controversies regarding ancient rituals and ritual reform involving life-cycle rituals, especially ances- tral rites at lineage halls. Evidential scholarship, philological and textual studies were but the visible tools whereby scholars sought to investigate ancient ritual. Behind the seemingly pedantic exercises was the powerful current of Confucian ritualism.
