简要回顾了美国研究生教育发展历程，从宏观层面分析了美国研究生教育的三个特点：分权化的研究生教育管理模式、多元化的研究生院系统、成熟完善的专业学位教育。比较分析视野下，结合我国高等教育实际，提出我国研究生教育应选择的三条道路：研究生教育管理分权化发展之路、优化研究生院结构的发展之路、加快发展专业学位研究生教育之路。

A brief overview is offered about the development of American graduate education and its three features： a delegated management system, multiple formats of graduate schools, and effective professional degrees education. Under a comparison with higher education in China, three development routes are suggested for China＇s graduate education： decentralized management, optimization of graduate school structures, and accelerated professional degrees education.
