It is a common problem that many public libraries in every country are lack of funds. Library foundation is the important source of funding public libraries. Public library foundation in America develops faster than other counties＇. On the basis of introducing the sources of funding and management system and so on, this article shows that library foundation can help public libraries of China overcome the difficulty of funding shortage. The operation of the American public library foundation affords valuable experience for China to build library foundation.
