隐喻在本质上是一种认知现象,是人类将某一领域的经验用来说明或理解另一领域的经验的一种认知活动。隐喻语义的使用和理解是一个非展示性的推理过程,语义理据则是这一过程的关键。以英、汉颜色词＂红＂与＂黑＂为例,说明隐喻认知的语义理据探究不仅可以从作为符号系统的语言系统内部入手,还可以从认知主体入手,根据联想意义、情感意义和语境意义得出隐喻认知的语义理据。

Metaphor in itself is a cognitive phenomenon.It is a cognition activity for human beings to use their experiences in one domain to explain or to understand that in another domain.The use and the understanding of metaphor are a non-demonstrative inference process,in which the semantic motivation is the key principle.We may probe into the motivation of metaphorical meaning not only from the symbol system-the internal system of the language but also from the cognition body-human beings,according to the associative meaning,the emotional meaning and the contextual meaning to obtain the motivation of the metaphorical cognitive meaning.
