环渤海经济一体化，是一个长时间、广空间、多层面的复合发展过程。它肇始于19世纪60年代后，这一地区39个沿海和内陆通商口岸的陆续对外开放。这些口岸作为连通国内外市场网络的核心节点，引领着该区域的城镇、交通、产业等主要经济领域，率先进入了经济现代化与市场化的行列。其主体内容和表现，就是来自中外双方的不同生产方式和市场要素，在环渤海广阔的地理与社会空间内，发生了长时期的相互碰撞、彼此调适和市场整合。到20世纪30年代，这里初步形成了以天津为中心、以青岛一大连为两翼的环渤海外向型经济区，标志着该区域的经济一体化进入了一个新的发展阶段，走出了一条具有环渤海特色的中国经济现代化之路，提升了该地区在全国的经济地位。

It is a long time, wide space, multi-level complex process for the Pan-Bohai Sea economic integration. It began with the continuous opening of the 39 coastal and inland ports in the 1860s. These ports connected domestic and international markets as the core network nodes, and led the region＇s cities, transport, industry and other major economic areas, entered the ranks of the economic modernization and market firstly.
