科学哲学对科学知识的认识论的说明并没有达到其预期效果。库恩的研究把科学哲学从认识论范畴放大到社会学和史学范畴，科学哲学由此步入后库恩时代。库恩之后的社会建构论认为科学知识是由社会因素建构起来的，稍晚的“科学的文化研究”是对科学的社会研究的深化和延伸。上世纪末兴起的分科化的科学哲学的研究重点在于生物学哲学，它的研究带有明显的描述性。

In Kuhn＇ s opinion, if we want to solve the riddle of Paradigm -Choice in scientific revolutions ,we must discard the so -called ＂theory of objective and neutral criterion＂ supported by Logical Empiricism and Falsifica- tionism first, then find the answer to this riddle in scientists depending on a kind of sociology viewpoint and method, and finally, he says, the answer is tacit knowledge, because of which, the new paradigm is yet chosen and established at last. However,tacit knowledge is always misunderstood as intuition and this makes Kuhn criticized as an irration- alist, but resorting to Kant, Kuhn dissipates the misunderstanding.
