关于杞国分封和初都问题,学界意见较为统一,而对杞都迁徙时间和地望则见仁见智。杞在周初分封于河南杞县,西周懿王前迁入山东,因卷入叛乱被周王朝迁置新泰、宁阳一带,直至春秋早期。因受四邻觊觎,杞国灭淳于迁都取地。春秋中期,淮夷病杞,杞国迁都缘陵。春秋中期偏晚阶段,晋国为杞修城。到春秋晚期,杞人被迫再次迁徙到鲁国北部一带。战国早期楚灭杞,其地尽归楚国。政治变迁是周代不同政治实体为生存而采取的不同适应性对策。

Scholars are generally agreed about the founding of Qi（杞） state and its first capital,yet disagree about the time and location of its later transfer.The state of Qi was set up in Qixian of Henan in early Zhou,and before King of Yi（懿王） was enthroned,it was relocated to Shandong.For being involved in a revolt,it was transferred by the Zhou rulers to Ningyang and Xintai.This lasted until early Spring and Autumn period.Later,feeling pressures from surrounding states,Qi took ChunYu（淳于） and moved its capital there.In the middle of Spring and Autumn period,Qi suffered repeated attacks from Huaiyi（淮夷）,and with help from the state of Qi（齐）,Qi（杞） migrated to Yuanling（缘陵）.In late Spring and Autumn period,the state of Jin（晋） once helped Qi build its capital city,yet once again,it was forced to migrate to Northern Lu（鲁）.In early Warring States period,Qi was finally destroyed and all of its former belongings were taken by Chu（楚）.The political transformations as discussed above show that throughout the Zhou period,different political entities had to adapt and readapt themselves for survival.
