语言政策必须服从并服务于国家政治利益、经济利益和文化利益,语言政策的目的就是为了实现国家利益。作为典型多元文化社会的美国,达到＂统一性＂与＂多元性＂的平衡,构建符合美国国家利益的语言政策是其一直寻求解决的问题。国家利益的构建既包括传统意义上的权利意识的建构,又包含新兴的共有知识、文化的建构。

Language policies whose aim is to realize national interests must be submitted to and serve the country＇s political interests,economic interests and cultural interests.To America,a representative of multi-cultural society,the balance between ＂unity＂ and ＂diversity＂ and the construction of the language policies complying with the U.S.national interests are what the country has been seeking to realize.The construction of national interests includes not only the construction of rights awareness in the traditional sense,but also the construction of rising common knowledge and culture.The paper analyzes American language policies,and at the same time mainly investigates American foreign languages education policies under the guidance of national interests.
