体育运动不仅仅是人们为了增强体质而进行的身体训练，更是借此实践社会价值观，承担象征和仪式意义的符号系统。随着历史的发展和社会的变迁，中国的体育从对“礼”的感受和实践，转入到21世纪初对丢掉“东亚病夫”称号的努力。借助身体和训练行为的隐喻，表达出了构建强大民族国家的希望。

Sports are not only physical exercise that serves to increase the physical condition, but also tools for social value practicing, with symbolic and ritual meanings. Following the change of society and history, sports in China endured the swift from being ritually practicing, to a symbol to represent Chinese people＇s effort to take off the title as Asian Sick Man. By relying on the physical training and related behavior, sport expresses the innate hope for building a strong country in the future.
