Since the appearance of Price and Prejudice, written by Jane Austen, people both at home and abroad have started heated researches of it. The main topic of their studies is the awakening of feminist consciousness in the book, and they are less involved in the study of the male characters. For this reason, through the interpretation of the masculine characters, this paper probes deeply into their different social values and marriages. Their ideas were determined by th~eir social status as well as social background. This paper reflects the cold society and the unequal status of men and women. Men can be head of everything, but women only can be mothers or governesses. From the analysis of the five main masculine characters, we learn that the declination of feudal aristocracy and the developing process of the bourgeoisie in England from the later 18th century to the earlier 19th century, and at the same time it reveals the arbitrary and the recreance of the hereditary aristocracy, as well as evils of the petty bourgeoisie, having an eye to the main chance, flattering those in authority.
