随着近代中国社会的变迁，甘南藏区的集镇商贸发展经历了清末民初外国洋行垄断性贸易，抗战前国内商帮对商贸推动和抗战时期政府主导下贸易勃兴三个主要阶段。在这些发展历程之中，集镇商贸呈现出了诸多新的变化，如商会组织产生与发展、商贸重心的扩散及小型集镇兴起、国家加强对商贸控制等。在国家、商会组织等的推动下，清末至抗战时期甘南藏区农产品商品化程度逐渐提高，商品经济得到了不同程度发展。

With the changes of modem Chinese society,Gannan Tibetan commodity economy has experienced three different stages of development. The first stage was the foreign matheson monopolized trade during the late Qing dynasty and the early republic of china,the second stage was the domestic merchant groups help to promote the commerce and trade before the Anti-Japanese War, and the third stage was the government dominated commerce and trad during the period of Anti-Japanese war. In the course of these developments,the town commerce and trade has showed a lot of new changes,such as commerce organizations emerged,business center spreaded,small town rised,govemment strenthened controll of business and so on. With the promotion of the central and local government and business groups, commodity economy of Gannan Tibetan areas has been developed to a certain degree.
