城市群经济空间联系的强弱直接影响城市群竞争力的强弱，进而影响一国的国家竞争力和国际地位。因此，为了提高我国城市群在国际竞争中的地位，加强城市群经济空间联系强度就显得非常重要。珠三角城市群作为我国经济最发达、最有活力的城市群之一，研究其经济联系强度不仅有助于继续发挥其对全国经济的辐射带动作用，而且对其他城市群的发展具有一定的借鉴意义，通过选取本地生产总值（GDP）、非农人口数量、社会消费品零售总额、实际利用外资和建成区面积等指标，应用扩展强度模型对珠三角城市群的分析得出的结论是：分别以广州和深圳为核心的中部都市区和东岸都市区经济联系不断加强，发展也较快；但以珠海为核心的西岸都市区各个城市联系较弱，有待加强。

The strength or weakness of urban agglomeration space links directly influence the strength or weakness, and further affect one country＇ s international competitiveness and its international status. Therefore, to lift up the position of our country＇ s urban agglomeration in international competition, it is very important to enhance the strengths of urban agglomeration space links. It is helpful for continuously playing its radiation role in driving entire country＇ s economy to conduct the strength of economic space links in Pear River Delta, one of the most developed, and the most vibrant urban agglomerations, and also has certain reference significance to the development of other cities. Through the selecting the indicators of local gross domestic products （GDP）, non -agricultural population, total retail sale of customer consumption, actual utilization of foreign capital, and the acreage of built -up areas, this paper has applied extension strength mode to analyze the Pear River Delta and made the conclusions that the economic links between the central urban agglomeration dominated by Guangzhou, and the eastern coast urban agglomeration dominated by Shenzhen, respectively, have been continuously enhanced, and have been relatively rapidly developed; the economic links among the cities in the western coast urban agglomeration dominated by Zhuhai are weaker, and waiting for strengthening.
