《汉语语法论》是高名凯先生几部重要著作中的头一部,集中体现了他的汉语语法理论。该书成书于1945年,1948年1月开明书店出版了初版,1957年11月,科学出版社出版修订版。初版和修订版之间的差异主要是修订版在四个大方面对初版内容进行增、删、改、换。从这样的内容取舍和扩充来看,高名凯先生汉语语法理论从《汉语语法论》初版到修订版有了进一步的完善,变得更加体系化了,主要体现在对汉语构词法和词类划分的详细讨论和对汉语句法更加详细的阐述上。同时,在这一过程中,高名凯先生也摈弃了一些错误或过时的内容,如＂名词句＂和＂动词句＂的划分。

On Chinese Grammar is the first of Gao Mingkai＇s important works.His theory of Chinese grammar is mainly reflected in this book.The first edition of the book was finished in 1945 and published by Kaiming Bookstore in January,1948.In November,the revised edition was published by Science Publishing House.Through careful reading of the two versions,the author have found main differences between the two editions：The revised edition changed in four parts of first editionThrough all these changes,On Chinese Grammar has become more systematic,which is mainly reflected by the detailed discussion of Chinese word classes and the elucidate elaboration on Chinese syntax.At the same time,Gao Mingkai has deleted some improper content in the first edition,such as the distinction between ＂nominal sentence＂ and ＂Verbal sentence＂.
