The Association for Educational Communications and Technology（AECT） International Convention is a major professional conference in educational technology in the United States of America.This paper presents the state and development trends of educational technology as they are revealed through the AECT 2011 International Convention held in Jacksonville,Florida,USA.The paper summarizes the conference theme,keynote speeches,presidential presentations and panel discussions,as well as presentations sponsored by its divisions and affiliations.In the paper,authors also comment the conference theme,issues,challenges and opportunities in the field of educational technology from perspectives of the conference organizer,presentation facilitators and participants.
