Statistics has become the first-class discipline. There exist, however, some problems and mistakes in the area of teaching. This paper elucidates the relationship among statistics, mathematics and scientific research, analyzes the necessary and pressing problems of statistics teaching, and puts forward some thinking about strengthening statistics teaching and ultimately, comes up with suggestions.
