英语和汉语中都存在动词省略句（VPE）和动词指代句（vPA），其先行分句的结构类型有主动、被动、名词、动词等八种形式，英汉的vPE和VPA有异同。对以汉语为母语的学习者习得英语VPE和VPA的研究发现：母语对二语习得有影响，基本差异假设是合理的，二语的最终习得可能实现。

There are Verb Phrase Ellipsis （VPE） and Verb Phrase Anaphora （VPA） in English and Chinese. The Construction type of their antecedent can be of eight forms, such They are different in English from Chinese. The study on the Chinese VPA shows the following findings： Learners＇ native as active, passive, verb, noun, and so on. learners＇ acquisition of English VPE and language affects SLA; Fundamental Difference Hypothesis is verified; the ultimate attainment of SLA is possible. Similar studies on the learners with other native languages are necessary for further study to make these findings more universal.
