Internet has become an important platform of daily communication in past twenty years and the language and the catchwords online are undergoing change and development because of scientific and technological progress and cultural development. Online language has formed a unique style of itself. This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of current internet catch- words and the reasons for the popularity from the cultural perspective.
