李斯的《谏逐客书》是我国公文史上的光辉篇章。长于言理、善于言情；观点鲜明、富于文采；顺情入机、动言中务，这是以《谏逐客书》为代表的战国时代公文的共同特色。我国学术界长期以来把包括《谏逐客书》在内的许多公文都视为文学作品，这不但遮掩了古代优秀公文作品的光芒，也抹杀了古代优秀公文作品“经国济世”的社会作用和历史作用，还助长了现代文坛和学校教育“重文轻笔”的浮躁风气。

Advice not to Expel Guests, written by Lisi, is a great masterpiece of government documents in our history. His work sets an excellent example of documents writing in Warring Period, which is famous for such characteristics as outstanding theories and sentiments, noticeable views, abundant skills and others. In a long period, this work, as well as others like, is regarded as literature by our scholars in academic field. In this way, they both ignore the great value of these ancient works and neglect the social and historical impact of them, helping the fickle vogue of the contemporary literary circle and school educa- tion that values literature but disregards writing.
