As an important part of undergraduate education, the design of general education system focuses on personality shaping and character fostering among students. With the general education system of the Department of Liberal Arts in Shih Chien University in Taiwan as a typical object, this article made an analysis on the ways and methods of the undergraduate colleges and universities in Taiwan in designing the general education system, bringing a significant reference to curricular reform of general education in the undergraduate colleges and universities in Chinese mainland.
