托尔斯泰的《谢尔盖神父》开篇即是主人公命运的戏剧性转变,从此“转变”便作为中心题旨贯穿全文的始终。小说中,谢尔盖神父经历了两次身份转变:一是由军官到神父,二是由神父到普通人。身份的转变伴随着其精神的蜕变,是他由注重生命的外在形式逐渐回归到建构内在信仰的过程。在整个“转变”中,谢尔盖神父经历了为一己的动物的人而生活、为人世间的光荣而生活、为上帝而生活的人生三境界,完成了不断超越客体化生存窠臼逐渐走向内心成圣的艰辛历程。以主人公谢尔盖神父从身份到信仰的多重转变为切入点,深度剖析其不断“虚己”的精神历程,从而把握作者渗透其中的“托尔斯泰主义”之“道德的自我完善”的精髓。

Tolstoy's Father Sergei begins with the dramatic changes of the hero's destiny and so the plot of "transformation" runs through the full text. In the novel, Father Sergei goes through two changes of sta- tus. from an officer to a priest and to an ordinary people. The transformation of identities with the spirit of transformation is the process that he returns to construct inner belief from paying attention to the external form of life. In the whole "transformation", Father Sergei goes through three realms of life: from a person who lives for their own desire like animals to a person who lives for the private honor and then to a person who lives for God. This is the hard process that he goes beyond the stereotype of the objectification of sur- vival in order to approach the inner sanctification. This changes of the hero's status and belief analyzes his spirit this way, the theory of "moral self-improvement" which paper from the entry points of the multi-angle ual development of "humble oneself" deeply. By is the essence of "Tolstoyism" can be grasped.
