张履祥是清初著名学者,他一生都在乡村读书治学,并亲自参加农业生产,关心农村的社会稳定和风俗人心。他提出＂保聚之法＂以促进乡村和谐与稳定;作《丧祭杂说》,意在移风易俗。他的乡村自治和变易风俗思想即使对今天的新农村建设也有启发。
장리상시청초저명학자,타일생도재향촌독서치학,병친자삼가농업생산,관심농촌적사회은정화풍속인심。타제출＂보취지법＂이촉진향촌화해여은정;작《상제잡설》,의재이풍역속。타적향촌자치화변역풍속사상즉사대금천적신농촌건설야유계발。
As a well-known scholar at early Qing Dynasty, Zhang Lv-xiang devoted his entire life to reading and doing academic research in countryside. He participated in the agricultural production and was deeply concerned with the social stability and circumstances in rural areas. To promote rural harmony and stability, he proposed that people could stay together, take advantage of the collective strength to overcome difficulties and seek self-protection when facing external danger. He also wrote An Essay on Funeral and Sacrificial Customs for the purpose of changing contemporary customs. His thoughts of rural autonomy and changing customs are still constructive for today＇s new rural construe- tion.
