话语理解一直是语言学家关注的重点。关联理论从认知角度阐释话语理解,优于以往的交际理论,但是对于话语关联的认知机制没有深入透视。尝试构建了一个图式理解模式,认为在话语理解中图式起到了重要作用。当听话人接收到说话人的言语信息后,会按照可及度高低调动头脑中相关图式参与话语理解过程,进而弥补关联理论解释力的不足。

Utterance comprehension has received considerable attention from linguists.Relevance Theory illustrates utterance relevance from the perspective of cognition,but fails to offer a detailed description of what happens at the hearer＇s implicit mental level——the cognitive understanding mechanism.This paper attempts to venture an analysis of a schematic processing model as the cognitive understanding mechanism for Relevance Theory.According to the model,when the hearer receives the ostensive stimuli from the speaker,he searches among his schemata to get the most relevant schema to achieve the understanding of utterances.
