通过对山西省怀仁县海北头乡的田野调查,匡算出该乡自高等教育大众化发展战略推进以来进入大学本科的求学者接受高等教育的成本与收益状况,进一步推算出被调查者高等教育投资的内部收益率和投资回收期。研究数据表明,尽管随着高等教育大众化的推进和高等教育个人成本的提升,农村籍学生的高等教育投资收益率在逐渐下降,并且投资回收期从10年延长到了14年,但高等教育投资收益率仍保持在较高水平上,高等教育投资收益仍十分明显;本科学历劳动者相对于高中学历劳动者,无论是年收入还是终身收入,其增量都非常显著。接受高等教育除经济收益外,还有多方面的非经济收益,大多数农村籍大学生的自我评价也显示出接受高等教育是有益的。

With the field investigation of Haibeitou Town of Huairen County in Shanxi Province, the costs and benefits of the rural students receiving undergraduate education of the county have been roughly estimated since the promotion of higher education popularization, and the internal rate of return and the period for recovery of investment have also been calculated. With the data analysis, it is found out that with the propulsion of the popularization of higher education and the upgrade of the cost of higher education, even though the rate of return of rural students' higher education is gradually falling down, and the period of recovery of investment has been delayed from ten years to fourteen years, the rate of return of higher education still maintains at a higher level, and the return of investment of higher education is still very distinct. The increments of both the annual income and the lifelong income of the workers with undergraduate education background are much more notable than those with the senior high school education background. Besides economic benefits for the students receiving higher education, there are, various non-economic profits. Most of the self-evaluation of the rural students has also shown that it is beneficial for them to receive higher education.
