家族组织在结社形式上是传统的，但是家族作为组织实体却是当代的。大量关于家族组织的研究忽视了这样一个基本事实，未能把城乡各地在近三十年涌现的家族组织作为当代的公民自愿结社看待。本文以号称“江南第一家”的郑氏家族组织为例，论述家族组织可以被看做当代普通的社团组织的观点，并说明家族组织归根结底是利用传统组织资源的一种当代社会的公民组织而已。此种研究对于在认识上摆正国家与社会的关系、传统与现实的关系、农民与公民的关系都具有意义。

As for the form of association, lineage organization is traditional, but as a real organization, it is contemporary. So many researches on lineage organizations have ignored such a basic fact, and they have failed to regard the lineage organizations which have emerged over the past thirty years as contemporary citizens＇ free-will associations. This paper takes the ease of the Zheng＇ s Family honored as ＂the First Lineage Organization in the South-of-the-Yangtze Area＂ to show that lineage organizations can be regarded as contemporary ordinary social organizations, and lineage organizations are in the final analysis contemporary citizens＇ organizations using the resources of traditional organizations. This kind of research is significant for us to understand the relationships between state and society, tradition and reality, and farmers and citizens.
