20世纪90年代以来我国的区域协调统筹发展战略可划分为协调统筹发展战略思想形成与提出、板块战略、城市群发展战略和主体功能区等四个阶段。目前我国的主体功能区战略是以西部大开发、振兴东北老工业基地和促进中部崛起为代表的板块战略的延伸。在主体功能区战略阶段,我国的区域协调统筹发展体现出政策导向转向区域内在经济联系、政策立足点转向区域功能性定位、政策目标转向促进经济增长方式的转变及凸显＂先行先试区域＂等新的发展趋势。

The regional co-coordinative development strategy in the 1990s of China can be divided into four stages, formation and proposition of overall and coordinate development strategy, plate strategy, city group development strategy and major functional areas. At present, the major functional area strategy is the extension of plate strategy, which is represented by the Great Development of West China, the revitalization of Northeast old industrial base and promotion of the rise of central Chi- na. In the stage of major functional areas strategy, the regional co-coordinative development strategy embodies transforma- tion from policy orientation to regional economic interconnection, from policy standpoint to regional functional positioning and from policy target to promotion of economic growth mode and new development trends like highlighting ＂firstly tried regions ＂.
