《周易》本经爻辞中的“小”义问题，存在着与卦辞中类似的情况。通过对萃六三、噬嗑六三、蛊九三、屯九五等四条爻辞的全面讨论，进一步明确了“小”义在本经卦爻辞中的独立用例，并充分认识到本经中“小”及诸断辞也各自相对独立为义。这一系列问题的发现，对于进一步展开本经思想研究具有十分重要的意义。

《주역》본경효사중적“소”의문제，존재착여괘사중유사적정황。통과대췌륙삼、서합륙삼、고구삼、둔구오등사조효사적전면토론，진일보명학료“소”의재본경괘효사중적독립용례，병충분인식도본경중“소”급제단사야각자상대독립위의。저일계렬문제적발현，대우진일보전개본경사상연구구유십분중요적의의。
The meanings of Xiao { lit. , small ） in the line statements are similar to its meanings in the hexagram statements. Through comprehensive discussions on the third line statement of hexagram Cui { Gathering Together, 45 ） , the third line statement of Shihe （ Biting Through, 21 ）, the third line statement of Gu { Decay, 18 ）, the fifth line statement of Zhun （ Difficulty at the Beginning, 3 ）, this paper further clarifies the independent utility of Xiao in the hexagram and line statements and sufficiently recognizes the inde- pendence of each Xiao in different statements. Discovery of these issues is of great importance for further studies of the thought in the basic text of the Zhouyi.
