本文运用2005年全国1％人口抽样调查数据考察了城镇地区男性收入差距对女性婚嫁行为的影响。我们先通过一个搜寻模型从理论上讨论了前者对后者产生影响的机制；再通过实证分析得出，一个地区男性之间的收入差距越大，女性越愿意增加其在婚姻市场中的搜寻时间，具体表现为女性更倾向于暂时选择单身，推迟结婚年龄。本文的结果还表明，女性的婚姻选择对中等收入以上的男性之间的收入差距更加敏感；大城市中的男性收入差距对女性婚姻选择的影响要高于中小城市。

We estimate the effect of male income inequality on female marriage decision in this paper using a random sample of the 2005 1% of population survey. We first use a search - based theoretical model to illustrate the mechanism, through which income inequality influences marriage decision. In the following empirical part, we find that female would like to keep single and to search for a longer time in the market if the male candidates have larger heterogeneity （i.e. higher income inequality）. We also find that female marriage decision is more sensitive to the upper part of male income distribution and that the effect is larger in big cities than in small ones.
