寺工 寺互 秦国 汉代
寺工 寺互 秦國 漢代
사공 사호 진국 한대
Sigong Sihu Qin Dynasty Han Dynasty
Sigong was a handicraft agency in the Qin and Han Dynasties in charge of the pro- duction of weapons, food vessels and chariot and horse fittings and other bronze objects. Referring to the inscriptions and records in the historic literatures, we understand that the sigong 寺工 was affiliated to shaofu 少府(chamberlain for the palace revenues) and serving the imperial court. However, sihu 寺互 was the agency in charge of safeguarding the administrations outside the imperial palace but inside the capital, so the sigong and sihu would have been two different agencies. The name of sigong would be derived from the name of the "si", which meant "court" or "to prepare".
