本文通过评论《审查历史》一书,提出了解释日本、德国和美国教科书争议之所以发生的四个原因。在界定教科书争议的国际和国内维度的内涵后,论文从控制教科书生产的不同机制、公民认同的变迁、国际关系的改变和对外战略的规划等四个方面,逐一分析了德、日、美三个国家的政治和社会因素对于教科书争议的影响,得出教科书争议和文化分歧的背后是政治冲突的结论。

Through a review of the book Censoring history the author explained four causes that had led to the controversy over the Japanese, German and American textbooks. After defi-ning the concept of textbook controversy from the national and international dimensions, the pa-per discussed the political and social factors of the three countries that had influenced the text-book controversy respectively from the perspectives of mechanism of textbook production, chan-ges in citizen identification, changes in international relations, and design of foreign strategies. Conclusions were reached that under the surface of cultural controversy over textbooks were the essential cause of political conflicts.
