Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of Waterloo are the two famous University of science and engineering in North American. It is great importance to emphasize humanistic education in cultivating talents. There are differences in humanities education curriculum structure, curriculum selection, studying requirements in two the university. But there are some common characters in the importance of the humanities education curriculum on Polytechnic students, attaching importance to communication programs in the humanities education curricula in the proportion of practice teaching, paying attention to integration of humanities education and professional practice.
