主题学研究的是主题跨文学之间的流变，“欲望”主题及“理性”与“原欲”的矛盾是文学的基本母题之一。19世纪资本主义的发展和人的物欲的膨胀直接催生了人类心底的欲望，失去了理性规约的欲望往往导致人格的扭曲和心理的分裂。然则，人之为人关键在于人有理性，“欲望”下的“堕落”表现了本真的人性，“欲望”深渊中的“理性”之火又彰显了人作为理性动物的存在，“理性”之光永远昭示着人对完美人性的追求。

Thematic study focuses on the change of one theme during the cross-cultural exchanges through history. The theme of ＂desire＂ and the conflict between ＂desire＂ and ＂reason＂ are the basic motifs of literature. The development of capitalism and accordingly the eagerness for material directly lead to the inflation of human desire at the bottom of one＇s heart. Without the yoke and restraint of reason, the gradual explosion of desire will definitely attribute to character distortion and physiological disintegration. However, reason is the main distinction of human being as opposed to animals. The fact that depravity comes from human desire conveys human nature undoubtedly and the fact that reason is always shining in the abyss of desire presents the human creature＇s distinguished existence in the world. There is enough reason to believe that reason will always lighten the road of human＇ s pursuit for perfect human nature.
