As the main calligraphers in the monument calligraphy resurgence period,He Shaoji and Zhao Zhiqian were both good at seal character,regular script,cursive and running hand and were both greatly influenced by Yan Zhenqing,Deng Shiru and calligraphy in the Northern Wei dynasty.Their achievements on the calligraphy have a far-reaching impact on the aftertime calligraphers.The paper makes a comparative study of their calligraphy,explores the artistic value and individual characteristics of their calligraphy so as to inspire calligraphers today.
