Eight syntactic constructions containing Qi Lai are summarized through the corpora analysis.Functional and semantic diversities of Qi Lai are found in these constructions.These diversities come from the coercion of the syntactic constructions which Qi Lai enters and the interactions of Qi Lai with other elements in the sentence constructions.The meanings of Qi Lai in different constructions are metonymically or metaphorically related to each other.
