作为文学形象,水妖“温蒂娜”同时也是一个“记忆形象”,奥地利女作家巴赫曼的短篇小说《温蒂娜走了》的创作即是以此为前提的。与包括德国浪漫文学作家富凯的小说《温蒂娜》在内的一切前文本不同,巴赫曼赋予了自己的温蒂娜一个“非同寻常”的女性视角和声音。在“他者”的视角下,人类社会的各种弊端暴露无遗,人们往日习以为常的事情和现象变得荒诞和怪异。

As a literary figure, water nymph Undine is also a memorable image. Austrian writer Ingeborg Bachmann's short story "Undine Goes" is based on that image. Unlike other Undine stories, including "Undine" by German romantic writer Friedrich de la Motte Fouque, Bachmann gives her own "Undine" a unique feminine voice and perspective. From an on-looker's viewpoint, the evils in the world of humans are exposed, and the things that are seen as normal become absurd. Undine's cries of accusation are not just a eomdemnation of a man called "Hans", who betrayed her, but also a rebellion against social order, mainstream ideology, and the values behind the literary image of "Undine".
