英语语块研究已成为当今外语教学与研究领域的一大新课题。语块研究之于外语教学与研究尤其是之于二语习得研究的重要性也愈发彰显。文章首先引用国内外专家学者的精辟论点对相关理论背景及其概念进行了阐述和界定。接着，文章以Ungerer，F．＆Schimid，H．J．和Rosch，E．的有关认知语言学和范畴化以及概念表征理论为指导，并借鉴、糅合近年国内的相关研究成果，对英语语块进行了较为详细系统的认知梳理、综述和分类，并从7个方面提出了自己的一些分类见解。

The study of English chunks has become a new topic of foreign language teaching and research field nowadays. The importance of chunks study to foreign language teaching and research, especially to SLA study is increasingly prominent. The present study, firstly, attempts to have elaborated and represented the related theory background and concepts from the differ- ent perspectives based on the theories of linguists, specialists and scholars both at home and abroad. Secondly, under the guidance of the theories by Ungerer, F. ＆ Sehimid, H. J. , Rosch, E. and with the combination of some domestic related re- search results of recent years, the paper combs, categorizes and classifies English chunks in a detailed and systematical way. Finally, the author also puts forward some constructive pieces of advice on the classification of English chunks from seven as- pects.
