自古以来，壮族传统节日自成系列，内涵丰富，源远流长，具有鲜明的稻作文化色彩。壮族称过节为“吃节”。因而，节日是壮家人畅饮的盛宴、祭祀的盛典、娱乐的平台、交友的良机，凝聚着壮民族深厚的情结，承载着壮家人对人寿年丰、平安生活的追求与期待，储存着丰富的历史文化信息，铭刻着壮民族历史文化发展的印记，具有调节身心、振奋精神、促进团结、增强信心、丰富文化生活和传承民族文化的功能。在现代化进程中，需要加强对其节日文化的保护与传承，实现节日文化的重构与创新。
