在分析开设英文土木工程课程必要性的基础上,归纳了同济大学英文课程地下工程教学取得成功的关键因素,如教师资源、教材选择、教学方法和考核方法等,总结了该课程的经验与体会,认为英文课程应该注重培养学生通过英语这一语言工具掌握专业知识和表达专业知识的能力,建议大学应逐步建立英语课程教学链,并设立国外专家临时讲学基金。

Analyzed the necessity of civil engineering courses in English, the authors summarize the key factors that contribute to the success of underground engineering course in Tongji University, such as teaching resource, teaching materials, teaching method and assessment method. The authors consider that the course in English should train the students' ability of gaining professional knowledge. Universities should offer English courses that are complimentary to the courses taught in various subject areas. A fund that supports visiting scholars giving lectures should also be established.
