通过对536名大学生的问卷调查，探讨了父母教养斤式与双元孝道及普遍尊老的关系。结果显示：（1）父母关爱性教养方式与互惠性孝道、父母控制性教养方式与权威性孝道之间存在显著正相关；（2）权威性孝道在父母控制性教养方式和普遍尊老之间起中介作用，父母关爱性教养方式对互惠性孝道和普遍尊老具有直接显著正向预测预测作用；（3）父亲的情感温暖对普遍尊老具有直接显著正向预测作用，互惠性孝道在母亲的情感温暖与普遍尊老之间起中介作用，权威性孝道分别在父亲的惩罚和严厉、母亲的惩罚和严厉与普遍尊老之间都起中介作用。

The family, as the basic unit of a society, is the embryo of social interpersonal relationships and the cradle for cultivating harmonious interpersonal relationships in which parents love their children and the children express their filial piety to their parents. As children grow up with different parenting styles, they develop different types of filial piety which affect their ways of dealing with interpersonal relationships. The culture of filial piety includes the trait of respecting other senior citizens and caring for the elderly the same way as one would respect and care for one own parents, which makes filial piety expand to the whole society： children not only respect their own parents but also care for other people parents with much the same feelings. To examine the relationship between parenting style, dual filial piety and respecting other senior citizens, the present study explores the modulating patterns of those factors using the structural equation modeling. A total of 536 students （240 male and 295 female） from two universities in Wuhan were enrolled. They completed the EMBU, Filial Piety Concept Scale, and Respect for Senior Citizens Scale. It took about 20 minutes for them to complete the questionnaires. The correlations among the factors were calculated with SPSS 16.0 and the structural equation model was applied to deal with all data. In the analysis of the structural equation modeling, four models were constructed; one for the hypothetical model and the other for the competing models. The results indicated that the controlling parenting style had a significant direct effect on authoritarian filial piety; the caring parenting style had a significant direct effect on reciprocal filial piety; the authoritarian filial piety played a complete intermediary role between those raised by controlling parents and their trait of respecting other senior citizens ; the reciprocal filial piety did not play a complete intermediary role between being raised [ by parent （s） ] and respecting other senior citizens; being raised [ by parent （s） ] had a significant direct effect on reciprocal filial piety and respecting other senior citizens; being raised by a father had a significant direct effect on reciprocal filial piety and respecting other senior citizens ; being raised by a mother had a significant indirect effect on respecting other senior citizens from reciprocal filial piety ; the authoritarian filial piety played a complete intermediary role between being raised by controlling parents and respecting other senior citizens respectively. In line with the moral cognition development theory, those findings demonstrated that different parenting styles, such as the controlling parenting style, the caring parenting style and dual filial piety, had a significant impact on the children propensity for respecting other senior citizens. While the controlling parenting style contributes to authoritarian filial piety and the failure of promoting reciprocal filial piety, the caring parenting style contributes to reciprocal filial piety and the absence of authoritarian filial piety. Being raised by a father vs. by a mother had different impacts on reciprocal filial piety and authoritarian filial piety, and on the offspring propensity for respecting other senior citizens. Being raised by a father had a direct effect on reciprocal filial piety and respecting other senior citizens ; being raised by a mother had an indirect effect on the child respect for other senior citizens from reciprocal filial piety. These findings suggest that parenting styles and filial piety play a critical role in promoting a child propensity for respecting other senior citizens.
