家族式民办高校是我国高等教育的重要组成部分，它的产生与我国传统文化有关，尤其与改革开初期特定的政治、经济环境有关。家族式民办高校可能采取泛家族化或类公司式治理，而无论采取哪种模式，就学校而言都应该建立长效用人机制。妥善解决家族矛盾，坚持开拓创新。注重选拔培养接班人；就政府而言，应积极营造适宜的产权环境，创造公平公正的法制环境，积极培育和规范要素市场和中介机构。惟其如此。才能保障家族式民办高校可持续发展。
